Well, I'd rather play 4.08 with the improved sounds (read HACK) than 4.09. These sounds are the best improvement on IL2 since .... almost ever.

But that's just me and I'm an offliner and only play with close friends on private servers sometimes.

Yes... better to wait with upgrade of PC if the BoB is the main in your mind. I still don't know midlle and lowest hardware that to run BoB smooth. Will know finally in spring or even more close to summer.

That is the exact kind of attitude that drove Oleg away from the UBI forums during the development of "Forgotten Battles" and the "friday updates".
