I think here it is the other way around.
If one knows he has the best product, i.e. ww2-air-combat-sim, there is small need for advertisement at all.
Everybody already interested in this genre knows CoD, the majority of possible customers.
Once the sim is out the game-magazines will write about it -> free advertisement, not about how it will possibly be, but how it really is.
Thats where the majority of not already addicted players will be reached.

Yes we can, they can force Oleg to stop showing off videos, it wouldn't be the first time a publisher has done this to generate a "media blowout" and hype for a game.

Don't watch video's , just get the game when it comes out. be surprised. Video just spoils it.

yep. i have the same feeling...
by the way, as you can see on this table: http://www.softclub.ru/games/releases.aspx
the release of il-2 from 1c is on "march 2011". compare it with LEGO and SHOGUN which have exact dates in 15 and 25 march!
so if we have "march 2011" we still have nothing...
sadly

So you blame a publisher for something they could do but without any proof they did?
Seems strange to me. Any hint that Ubi forced 1C to stop showing anything?

Me think a trailer is in the works. That's probably late but who nows who has what at disposal to create one and how much time it takes them.

We're a small bunch here waiting for that for sure, but I guess IL2 is not on top of the priorities for Ubi marketing, and if they got what they needed already late, hard to win back lost time (partially by choice, allocation of ressources, which here we "don't" accept, but may be understandable)

For a serious flightsim from maybe the most important era of airwar Ubi's website is a joke!
That short for release i expect to see a site like say the Silent hunter series?

No I merely stated that they could be.

But look at sh5 no word for ages and then bam few pictures just 1 or 2 months before release and in-between the images and the release virtually nothing.... Sounds familiar!!!

Marketing wise this is turning out to be an undersnowed child without a transsponder jacket.

Mouth to mouth, simmer to simmer advertisement just aint enough nowadays. Besides how do i confince someone when there is so little to show?

Common Oleg you can do better then this
