It's kindof obvious that when Philip.Ed logs onto his computer, wondering perhaps there has been a friday update, and finds this propaganda about there not being a friday update, that he is going to check out WHY there is no update. Not find some panicking frantic kid screaming for MOAR UPDATEZ! plz!!11!!!one!!1!!eleven!!!11!F5....

That's it, I gotta take care of real life matters, like travel for 3 hours to visit my family, when I am done catching up, after dinner and during my parents nap, I may perhaps, go on my Phone's browser and see if there DID infact exist a friday 18-02-2011 update.

Well he just happened to be the 1st reply less than 3min after the OP, coincidence?

Anyway, I was only making a light hearted comment, it's not a dig at Philip.Ed

Oh and hope your 3hr Journey is ok.

I love updates, but c'mon; there's people who love the game and respect the team, and then there's screaming fan-boys who sit around clicking F5 and get annoyed when the team doesn't release an update. They aren't entitled to do it, and besides, release is less than two months away and I can imagine they are very busy.
But yes, I'm not taking it as a dig, it's purely coincidental that when I logged in expecting the update, i saw a topic about there being no update yet. I can see the hypocrisy, and I have logged in more than 3 times today to see if there's been an update, but that's probably less than 10 minutes of my day.
I wish you all a pleasant weekend; with or without an update.

BTW, Oleg and Luthier are online (I wonder how many of you came when you read that)

I quite agree with your sentiment. Dev updates are a privilege and jumping the gun like that or expecting them like you are somehow owed them is very arrogant.
