Major, I like that a lot. A classic, relaxed style suits it very well, and you can't really have leave the cover without the two most recognisable things of World War II air warfare and Battle of Britain: the Stuka and the Cliffs of Dover.

The 3 most: white cliffs (doesn't have to be dover), Stuka, and a British fighter. Honestly, how could you leave out a Spit

Very nice Major. The Hurricane looks a little lost, and there are no bullets being fired. Perhaps the Hurri could be taking a shot at a Stuka, or diving on the second Stuka that's in shot.

More colourful (paintings here and above are not mine - they are taken from the internet. This one is by Troy White).

Very good, major_setback

I like the first, and I like both texts.

It may be best to illustrate with the following narrative:

SPOTLIGHT
Spitfire vs Bf-109 in combat and to see tracer fire and machine gun

SECOND LEVEL
Stuka or Ju-88 that are attacked by Hurricanes and a burning plane in the sky

LANDSCAPE
Red sky over the coast. White Cliffs on the English Channel (eg the port of Dover as the outline of "major")

The whole image should look storm of war (for example a blood red sky color big storm) where the distance, the background, you see that there is great air battle.

Well ... that's how I imagine it ...

Two Ideas:

1. Remember that most of those Google image search results are another person's property, and not able to be used for commercial products and marketing without consent ($$$).

2. SOW looks so good already that the cover could be done with the game engine, and a little bit of photoshop to make if fit better, get rid of some of the jaggies.

Personally I think that would be a pretty nice advert, "Our game is so beautiful, we put the screen caps on the cover!"

Agree, that's why I made my proposals with the best in game shots I found. Naturally I was joking with my title due to swiss comments, and the shot should include what Ian points out if we could have our hands on a beta to set up Majors scene "in game"...
