I picked up model building from one of my brothers at a younger age. He still remembers the day I took his prized "Memphis Belle" B-17 model out to the back yard and blew it up with Black Cat firecrackers.
But in my defense it was a little boy's imagination that took over and in my mind I was flying the B-17 over war torn Germany on the way to a bombing mission while trying to survive the horrible flak of enemy guns and dodging German Bf-109's
It was a glorious mission until a direct hit blew the plane in half.
I think my brother chased me around the house a dozen times.

I was planning to have my own fleet of WWII model planes, never really worked out! I bought a bunch of model supplies including an airbrush, but haven't had as much time for it as I thought I would. I've only managed to build one so far, and that's my personal favorite B-25. It looked ok for a first time job I thought, but it fell of it's shelf a couple of weeks ago and lost a prop. I'm hoping to reattach it.

As far as model building I only remember getting so high on solvent fumes I didn't really care after 30 minutes...

haha yeah, you've got to leave a couple of windows open or you get to feel a bit light headed.

I still haven't finished my second model, my airbrush is actually not working and I can't figure out what's wrong for the life of me. I need to take it down to the hobby store when I can find the time.

EDIT: LOL, for a second there I thought Vulcan said "Soviet abuse can kill instantly". I was assuming someone had made a remark about the yak-3.
