I think I came into the lobby of a couple of those matches, but left. I am just not ready yet for Sim mode. I want to be, and have done a couple of them, but just can not see, or find the foe. I am not that good at dog fighting either though, but working on it. I have a couple friends that go into private matches with me as target drones to let me practice. But, I have a hard time. I can fly pretty good, and can in many cases stay out of someone elses cross-hairs, but just have a hard time targeting. I like realistic and do pretty well with it, just cant seem to get the kill. My expertise tho is capture the airfield, and strikes. I seem to be much better at pressure landing, and lining up the strike. Kinda a SAC kinda guy, lol.. But, I am still working on the dog fight, because I love it.. I will get better soon I hope, and can be more than a target... lol..

If these guys can put up with me in games I'm sure you'll be fine mate, add a few friends and get playing and you'll pick it up soon enough.

Thanks, and I know you are right. I am not afraid to join in, now matter how much I suck. I just get frustrated in the heat of battle, and want to practice not just to get better, but to also cut down on the frustration in battle. I really enjoy BOP, and will jump in when I want to fumble around, lol... Most the people I have met on live in BOP have been pretty cool people, and a different mindset in many of the other on line games. The people on BOP seem to be much more tolerable, and friendly, and not so much smack talking punk kids.. There are lots of folk that want to help out, and help others get better... I like that.. I am an older guy (49), and not a huge gamer, but enjoy it for the game, not the banter.

That said, only one guy in BOP kind of pissed me off. A punk kid probably. I was teamed up with a couple friends in a CTA game. We have gotten pretty damn good at that, and talk, play teamwork and cover each other. Each of us have our roles, mine being taking the landings since that is my strong suit, as well as striking foe on the ground trying to take the field, while team mates cover me when I am on the ground, and do the more air to air work. Works very well as a team, and we have gotten sort of a rep for being good at that. We had our asses handed to us in one match. Was a good clean fight, and I will bow to a foe that beats me in a clean battle. I like the competetion, and have no problem with loosing a good game. But, this butthead right after the match, sent me a PM stating, and I quote "I bet you thought you were going to win that match. But you failed epically". He was correct, and I lost graciously, and accepted that, but the comment just pissed me off. SO, me and my team went back in, and cleaned his clock in the next battle worse than he took us previously, lol.. My teamates wanted to write him back a bunch of smack, but I told them not to. The BEST revenge for the comment was simply, go back, clean his clock, and walk away.. and that is just what we did, nothing said. We haven't seen that guy on line or in a match since, lol.. We made our point...

Anyway.. It's all fun..

I stumbled into one of those sim matches too (think I saw Seraphim in there?) My first go at sim mode, and flew around 3/4 of the match just trying to find the fight lol! Chased somebody else a bit only to find they were on my team, and only saw one enemy to get a shot at (and was shot down once). Did a few 1v1 and 1v2 matches (actually won one while outnumbered! ). That was a lot more fun then I thought sim would be. I do miss the 'lock head to target mode' as that is what you'd do in real life, but I don't mind the arrows not being there.

Only real problem is the planes are tiny, and the brightness of the sky (especially the hazey levels) "washes out" the airplanes so I can't see them at a distance. I drive by an airport daily, and can spot a Cessna well over a mile out on a clear day, but in the game you don't see them until you are right on top of them. Any way to adjust that? I'll tinker with the brightness a bit.

Ya sim mode is the sh!t some most time its just kinda hard to find people to play with every 1 seems scared of sim some times it takes me n hour to get a 2 on 2 going (i only play sim) so i just grab a beer n pack a bowl..... We need more sim players to play with and we also need more of the sim players so that we can get sum capture the airfield and strike.......i also like doing the axis vs allies with u guys easier to recognise the enemy......

Could be. One of my first sim games as well . What time are most people on? I mean GMT +/- what? I'm on GMT+1, and depending on my flight schedule I can be on anywhere between 1300z and 2400z.
