Blitz Street
Last night here in the UK Channel 4 recreated what living through the Blitz was like using eyewitnesses to recount their experiences as well as detonating bombs in similar size to the ones used by the Germans- SC50, SC500. The effects were pretty devastating as you'll see:

I don't know whether anyone else managed to see Dr Who on BBC1 on saturday. The episode was set in 'blitz' London and featured amongst other things a darlek in army green as well as 'adapted' Spitfires attacking a darlek ship in orbit around the planet!!! For those in the uk the episode can still be accessed on the BBC iPlayer. I've managed to locate a trailer link that does have a brief glimpse of the Spits attacking the darleks

I was flicking through the documentary channels and came across one called "Spitfire Ace". They take four modern pilots and train them in same way the ww2 pilots were trained then whittle them down to one flyer who gets to do 9 hour advanced flying in a Spitfire.
http://docuwiki.net/index.php?title=Spitfire_Ace if you google "history channel spitfire ace" there are several sites where you can see the episodes |
