Although I am not a computer expert, I am what I would call a computer optimizer freak…

My system comes from a clean install (3 weeks ago) with all Win updates and drivers (Intel, soundcard, GPU, controllers, etc.)

All I can say is that my system runs every single game I own at very high or full details with great playability.

e.g. Empire Total War, CoD, Crysis 2 and recently BF3... I can run FSX with very high settings and tons of add-ons @ 30 fps average. Black Shark, FC2 and A-10 also run terrible good in my system.

After the last patch I am experiencing terrible stutters/freezes (3 secs +) along with computer lockups (need to hit the reset button) and CTD’s. I guess I can wait a few more months…

Regards.
How often is it recommended that people clean and reinstall windows?

I've been having some performance issues and I haven't done a clean install for 2 years. Will my BIOS settings stay the same if I do do this?

Done all the stress tests... After all I do have my i7 @ 4.2 Ghz.

Prime, intelburntest, memtest... You name it, I have run them all!

Cheers.

PS1: All of my drives + registry are defraged.

PS2: Now, while flying, I have popup windows saying that my system is low on memory. Epic fail the way things are for me right now...

Here I do it every 6 months +-.
A clean install won't mess with your BIOS settings. Just make sure you backup your documents/work/files, bookmarks, emails (if they are locally stored) and game settings/configurations/controls.

Regards.

@ MC, system memory to low is referring to your virtual memory, you will need to increase the size that is listed there.

I used to get this message when I had XP, since I have upgraded to Win7 Ultimate I had this pop up once, when I checked my virtual memory setting it was controlled by windows. I changed it accordingly and never had it again.

If your not familiar with the process to change virtual memory, youtube has many videos there to show how.

Cheers!

If your machine is using your paging file then you're going to be screwed for performance because you've run out of RAM.

Thanks for the input.

I usually set manually the amount of virtual memory in my machine.

I set the same amount (2048 Mb) for min and max values in order the gain the most performance of it.

Note: there are several sources that claim a performance improvement this way. Same sources also recommended that the virtual memory (page file) size should be relatively low e.g. 1024 to 2048 Mb in order to gain the most of it.

I will try it with the recommended (OS) setting (6130 Mb).

Regards.

Default It's gonna be my favorit game

Hey All

I dont know if this is the right place to share with.
I like the game even of the stutters even of the sporadic CDT's.
Finally I shoot down some ME's 109 in MP its just a great feeling, when you hit the enemy and suddenly, dense black smoke tells you the fight is over
But more often i chase the enemy plane, sometimes for minutes, trying to bring small firebursts right in the Target. But i miss so much, especially when i try to shoot in the flightradius (What is normaly standart if the enemy tries to escape). I think its actually because i can hardly see the full way of the tracer amunition in wide angle view, so i can't estimate where precisely i have to aim for (It seems the tracers disappears after a few Meters). When i compare this when i zoom in, then i see clearly the way of the bullets. But when flying betwen 20-50m behind the enemy i cant use the zoom. Does anybody share this experience? I dont know if it is a matter of proportions and not better realizable!?!

See you in the Air...

Now that largest bugs have been (or will be) fixed in the engine and the AI will be corrected, it would be nice to see some new content. What about some French and Dutch fighters and a extension to western contentinental map? I think it's now time to expand this game with some new content. After that, please put all your efforts into a eastern expansion. I'd love to see some Yak's and Me's in an early 1941 eastern campaign.

Regards,
FP
