A 1958 Land Rover. A real one, not a false belgium one. Still works very well ! Kind of hard to drive, but a lot of fun though. The brakes are not efficient at all, the gearbox is not synced between the 2nd gear and the third, and the steering is not easy ! It is very good off road !

What is wrong with a Belgian one?

Nothing I guess. Minerva produced a vehicle based on the Land Rover Series I and called a Standard Vanguard. It was produced in Belgium for the army. The Rover company supplied technical support for Minerva and allowed Minerva to produce Land Rovers under licence to Rover.

Mine isn't one of those. When my father rebuilt it, he checked. It seems there are (were ?) books with all the references of all Land Rover of this time.

Nice Patrol, but it's too big. For a trail rig or just an off roader I prefer a smaller car.

About me: 21 year old computer geek. Im a member of the Board of Directors for the DFW chapter of Texas 4 Wheel Drive, the largest chapter in our particular club. I had one rig before this, an '85 4Runner that I blew the motor up in. I was driving down the highway when it threw 2 rods. I could put my arm through the block. I sold that chassis to a club member, who still has it. He may sell it to another of my friends who wants to get into wheeling.
