Even though I will be playing with my AV8R, the controller layout feels just right to me.

I'm also used to pitch and roll with the left stick, viewing with the right. Even if it was the opposite, I would just buy a flight stick (which I did anyway). I'd rather spend $100 than continue to play arcade style flight games like Ace Combat or Blazing Angels.

This game looks like it kicks rump... and I'm only watching the trailers and demo vids guys are posting on here.

Don't worry Anton. At first I was a bit confused at the controls, but I got it quick enough. Some people just aren't used to having it different. I believe in the past (two or three years ago) there was a flight sim that had some controls similar, and at first I hated it because of that. But after playing with it for a week. I got used to the controls, and now I don't even have to think about what button to push or which trigger looks around and which turns the plane.

It's a fine control scheme, and some just don't know how to practice with it.

Anton-the full game will feature my approval

Guys- if you really have issues concerning controller layout then buy a stick,
please,

after all everyone said about a console conversion would need to appeal to biggest (i.e. fps) audience...if you like flight get a stick...($40US)

A game this good is worth the investment...

Just sayin..

ps...good work Anton et al

Anton you are acting like a child. how can respond in such a way that comes out like you are doing us a favor, that if the game does not go gold we will never get anything like this. peolpe come to this forums is to complaint mostly, about the things that can make this game great. these are the players that are going to make this game go gold because they are the hardcore il2 Fans. listen to them not get mad and send childlike responses. its a good game and I hope is goes gold so we can have more and more of this.

It also sad, that the one hadn't let developer know about his concerns earlier, before game gone gold.
But only thing one could do now - is buy or not buy the game. That's it.
I am not doing 'a favour' of releasing this game. It is business.
If the game won't sell good - there won't be sequels, it is clear.
If everybody will buy Heroes over Europe instead - there will be sequel of Heroes.
Nothing I can do here.
If everybody will buy our game, and get used to our layout - than all future games, even not from us, will support this layout.
Nothing I can do here also.

But it's completely useless to write in each thread, that game sucks because of layout. First, I disagree, second it won't help anyone.

And, btw, simply that it's part of my job doesn't mean I like to read anything like your post. It is generally good idea to talk without using something like 'childish'.

about 13% of a population are left-handed
5-8% are color-blind (the radar, may be impossible to see friend or foe)

flexibility in control scheme is a good thing, almost a standar in games that have spatial 3d movment. (not full customization, but different layouts to choose from)

Most console owners have multiple games. standarized controlls or customization makes switching between games easier.

Yeah, stick flipping would be good to have.

Personally I have no use for it. Evey single console flight game i have ever played has had Lefty Flight as the standard scheme.

All the hardcore flyers adore the virtues of the joystick experience...

Soooo.... the upset party must be R/C Flight enthusiasts with muscle memory issues?

I used to fly R/C planes before an analog stick gamepad ever existed. Hmm, a shame people are so upset, really.

Ah well.
