Best part about this game is... it depends.

Marshal's Baton is pretty low on the list once you are very high level (at best maybe 5% boost to damage and only if you use low level troops for granularity).

Living book for summoner builds, Telescopic Scope for shooter builds, ale barrel to finish sniper set, demon tongue for demon builds, true faith banner for paladin combat builds, drakonix for red dragon builds, rage eater for boss builds or long battles, metamorphic axel spot, golden ring for mana....

I typically keep a lot of gear since I'm not good enough to predict every situation unless I replay the same game twice.

For example, I might even equip the Salamander Banner for the fire resist against dragons. I have a set I specifically equip just to kill dragons.

Another set for XP, another for magic buffing, another for defense, another for sheer critical hit damage.

Ah Knight set is one set I never finished in Armored Princess, but you'll probably be able to complete it here since items are far more plentiful.

[edit] Oops, misread my list. I listed some Artifacts on there, which should not be on there since we are only comparing regalia, although sometimes regalia and artifacts take up the same slot.

i saw that something is diferent here, about regalia and artifact
also didnt complete knight set in AP

And also have many items, for killing undeads, dragons etc, but bored to change them constantly, only for bigger fights

this time i'll finish the game like this and when they release final update
I played other KB games more then once so that will be the case with this, cause game is the best

As you ppl said it, best item depends on your army, and enemy composition. But there are some general values.
Marshal baton is total crap once you hit 15000 lds mark, because then it`s less then +6% lds. In case you lead orc army orc ear is better then marshal baton because is gives 10% reduction on orc units = 11% larger army all time, after above mentioned 15000lds mark orc ear is x2 better then baton. Iron karaklum good for orc also.
For demons demon tongue is great ofc , elves silver horn (+1 moral = almost +10% larger army) , enemy have lots of dragons = dragon eye best (if you have shield of rahha it will be fun battle ) , for your dragon army = hearth of dragon, it`s almost +20% on army size due to -10% lds and +1moral , dwarfs king borg horn . . .

It`s hard to say what is best item in game, because there are bunch if items to pick, and bunch*2 possible situations to use that item in

For a full human army Marshal's baton is very decent. Not for +leadership, but for +1 morale. dual wield 2 batons + that mind tree talent = easy high morale.
