The German forum says the engine remains the same if I translated correctly.

In general it sounds as more or less good news to me. Could be much worse. RoF team are aviation enthusiasts which is very important.

A Korean War Sim made by Luthier (he surely is planning this project for long, remember the Korean War add-on that we heard of a few years ago?) does sound like good news to me
MiG Alley is getting old And Strike Fighters feels too "arcade-ish" to me.

The guys from 777, that have often been praised here, cannot be a bad solution for continuing this project.

What we'll never know is what happenned in the inside. But, really...
Who cares?

If there is any truth in this 777 are the only company left that can make a decent ww2 flight sim. Unfortunately when they will begin making one is anybodies guess

There will be others.

I'd be more interested in seeing an open-source community effort. Graphics might be awful, but I bet we could get really high-fidelity physics and flight/damage models.

I really hope this is true, wish him the best of luck and offer my full support.

Also, I wish all the ex MG employees the best of luck in their new jobs (for those who got transferred) and finding a new job (for those who did not get transferred)
You say this as if it is confirmed and not just rumours. I'd like to hear about the sources as well...

Save your time and efforts because we have been had by the Russian mafia gangsters. Fleecing the public and running and hiding when found out. You are not getting another 109 ever again. Period. You might as well cut that picture out pin it up.

The nice thing about an open-source community project would be that anyone could contribute models/textures/etc.

We could put it on Steam to enforce anti cheat. VAC does indeed work, despite what people in this community tell you. I think more likely that CLOD has not enabled VAC.
