If you come across experienced 'blue' pilots.. they will not dogfight with you, but do 'hit and runs'. This is coz the I16 out-turns nearly anything. The same story is applied when fighting the Japanese Zero... ![]()

Friends, EVERY red squadron talk abouth this: 109 F4 is helicopter, no airplane, your structure, very strong, (titanium league?!) i16, (just curve), Lagg serie 4, Yak 1, very fragile, extremely exaggerated...were already considered planes vertical ascent. MIG no is TNT whit wings, is a fighter to bomber, in hight level, but your structure, in game, no is nothing, 1 shot, just ONE and fire in motor...please!!!
... the patch 10.0.1 and 11.0.1 is a bad, very bad joke!!! EVERY better to germans airplane, but to Russian, nothing! His is amazing! Yes, i know i16... your atual guns and nothing whit f4 is the same...f4 just curve litle open in relation g2. |

Well.. you must consider this point of view.
IL2 is a Russian flight sim, made by Russian aeronautical engineers and software developers. Why on earth would they make the 'enemy' aircraft better than their own... UNLESS .... they were better in some respects. You can thank Oleg and the rest of his original team that they were not american, otherwise the P38/39/47/51.. B17/25/...etc would outfly the I153/I16..etc and the USA would have won all wars without trying - Actually the USA lost every war the've started ![]() Getting back to the point... in Oleg's words about this sim. "It's the pilot.. not the aircraft" So.. stop complaining, get your act together... and start training ![]()

Hi jeroll3d,
Try to fly German aircrafts. Try not to turn, try to keep high speed, try to only attack with energy advantage and surprise, try not to attack when you do not have full advantage. See if you find it easy, especially late war scenario. Then you will notice: turning is useless, duel sucks but being a murderer rocks, speed and big guns are your best friends! When flying the inferior type, it is better not to engage at all. Blue side pilots do that very often. MiG3 vs bombers: as with any other fighters, NEVER EVER attack from dead six o' clock. Try high speed diving attacks there where the bomber has less defensive weapons. 90° deflection shooting is your friend. Cut the throttle in the dive and try not to pick too much speed, remember controls can become very heavy in the MiG3. Otherwise, true....Choppers are not easy target to destroy with an aircraft, when well flown they can make it very hard for the fighter pilot...Fortunately we haven't got any in game ![]() Last edited by RegRag1977; 10-21-2012 at 01:04 AM. |

Same old story after 11 years. Notions deduced from losing online reported as 'fakts'.
Where are the flight tests? Where are the screenies? Where are the links? What is the stall speed of the 109 compared to Plane B and which has more available thrust at stall? That's what's behind the subjective helicopter experience. The perception is both relative and subjective, with flying skill playing a part. See how far you can fly outside the lines on historic charts using the tests used to make those charts, then you have something to show Daidalos besides hot air and spite. |

The 109F-4 has not been changed in the recent patches, the I-16 now does has a chance to fall apart instead of exploding, and that's the only change with the I-16.

I get my best climb rates at just a bit over stall regardless of plane. If I am followed by another plane with higher stall speed or less power it can never follow. This relation will often vary with height... sometimes just get worse.
