Additional project
Here's another skin I'm working on:
It's a 109 E-4 flown by Hauptmann Max Dobislav in late spring 1941. Still a work in progress (mainly general fine tuning and color adjustments) |

Love the last pic that you put up of Black 8.
Now, to be a critic Acknowledging the fact that the pic I have posted here is done by someone like you or I, years after the war, and isn't necessarily a 100% correct rendition. I think your yellow is a tad brighter than average. Was also wondering what your source for your colour scheme is, as this pic displays the same dude's plane, but with the "top coat" displayed (Brown or Gray and Green) on the top side of the fuselage. Personally, I think skins can look cool without the "top coat", but if you're trying for historical accuracy, then that might change things |

I'm not yet satisfied with the colors, especially yellow. That's what I meant by "color adjustments" in my previous post. Unfortunately some colors seem to look quite different in game compared to what they look like when I'm working on them.
EZ, criticism is of course wanted and appreciated! My source and reference for the skin is "Wings Of Fame - Vol. 4". I don't have a scan of the page, but the mottling and the top coat in are in fact different from the picture you found on the Internet. The top coat in my book is just dark grey (barely visible in the first two pics, due to lighting) without any shades of brown. Overall, still quite some adjustments to make! |

Heh! I thought I'd throw some criticism in before the post that says you're finished.
Re: what you said about the colours... I had a problem with alot of my colours changing colours (when in game) until I began saving them as a "lossless format" JPEG. Not sure about the saving process in the program that YOU use, but it helped me SO much when i discovered and started to save this way.

Here's the reference picture, I was talking about:
(The spinner was too close to the center of the page, that's why it's blurry. But it basically looks the same like in the picture EZ posted) I use GIMP for skinning and 100% quality, when I export the JPEGs. Haven't found another applicable option setting yet. Thanks for the advice, though! |

Thanks LC!
Here's a little progress update: Added a more blue-ish color tone and adjusted the nose coloring, as well as the camo pattern and some other minor stuff. Here's how she looks right now. Still working on it ... (not quite happy yet!) |
