These tournaments are quite common and very popular especially in Russian community, they have got lots of very strong pilots, some of them specialise on duels only. This has got long tradition even from old Il-2 times...

Last year's tournament was mostly 109s (obviously ) but as they could chose plane they liked for one of the matches and you could see some Hurricane or Spitfire duels. Very interesting. I've been watching most of the matches on stream provided, was great stuff. As for Mr.X he did very well but as I said there are specialists and he didn't make it too far iirc. You can find whole rooster and results in here somewhere (Ataros started the thread). Normal ATAG pilots would have very little chances, I know very few 109 pilots I would bet any money on, some of these Russian guys are ridicuously good in E-fighting

i wouldnt count on any chances for me anyways Participating and then watching the stream when i am out after the first few rounds is what i thought of. Would definately be good education.

Does anyone want a bet on what % of the pilots will be flying the spit

I say 2%... and 75% of those will be due to accidental selection

Hopefully the FM's will be a bit better by the time this starts.

If you don´t give MR MK X a change, I really want to see this guys fly! I am just happy with getting a bomber down on ATAG, so if any1 wants to get into round two, he can ask me to be his opponent...

Selection of planes goes something like this:

Judge throws virtual ) coin and who wins removes the first plane from the list,
then second ect... the last plane that is left is the one that they will fly.
Also there is two halftimes and in second one you choose the plane again.

Why the most of duels were on 109s ?
That is mainly energy fight like Robo mentioned and spits have that nasty cough in steep climb near the stall speed is probably the first reason.
Second one is cannons, you can faster damage your oponent

First championship was great and you can find some of those very good pilots
on Repka servers.
But also I didn't saw some excellent pilots that I know from old il2

Map championship for those who want to train.
Duelhost.rar
duelhost.cs files and put it in the duelhost.mis
C: \ Users \ Bob \ Documents \ 1C SoftClub \ il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover \ missions \ Multi \ Dogfight
file 3.cmd - in C: \ Users \ Bob \ Documents \ 1C SoftClub \ il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover
in the same folder in the file confs.ini drive your server name in the string serverName = (space) name server.
Start the server:
Steam open the library, PKM (for IL-2)), properties, set launch options.
At the prompt, type:-server (blank)-pwd (blank) password, if a password is needed or simply:-server.
Next to the incentive, the library, PKM on IL-2, Run ... - A black console window with the cursor (if there are no problems with pinging your aypishnika TRIMS). In the type f (gap) 3.cmd - server starts.
