Try rightclicking the instal file and run as admin, see if that helps. You also might want to redownload just in case the file is corrupted. Where are you downloading it from, just to be sure?

I wonder if this is that Visual Basic runtime issue...

Did you try this:

Download>extract hl.exe to desktop>right click>run as administrator>install Hyperlobby>find desktop shortcut to Hyperlobby>right click>run as administrator>Done.

If you look here: http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?n...download&cid=3

You`ll see Visual Basic runtime, install that, then try HL again

Ok, I've loaded the runtime module and I finally got hyperlobby to load but it doesn't recognize the command path for Il2. I can't manually get it to "see" the game either so it may be as simple as which Il2 do I choose if I have Il2:1946 as I don't see it on the list. Any other ideas would be nice as I see that there are lots of people online AND I WANT TO PLAY TOO

Select IL-2 Forgotten Battles on the list. Even if it doesnt find path, enter it manually...

I've left the UAC on and run HL with no issues. When you install software, no matter what it is, you must run the setup.exe as an administrator. Once installed, right click on the program file or icon and under the "Compatibility" tab, tick "Run this program as an administrator" in the "Privilege Level" section. It should run fine.

Hl only recognizes the file name il2fb.exe.So you might have to rename the 1946 exe file to il2fb.exe.

The exe file looks like its still named il2fb but even if I enter the path manually it still doesn't recognize the path. HL runs better now except for this issue running as administrator. Do I still need the mswinsck.ocx file and in what directory does it go as a search doesn't bring this file up. (I also created its own install folder and did not place it in any of the program files- <command path> D:\Ubisoft\Il2- Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe
