U mean like "we" FW190 joks do on a regular basis in cockpit on servers, as in blind? Strange thing that is, seems FW designers couldnt put good forward visebillity into the ac to save thire lifes...or as it where, the pilots. Allies on the other hand has that forward panorama wiew nailed down cold...strange thing indeed. Or maby all FW pilots where midgets and that is accuratly simulated in IL2?

Closed pit actually makes it easier doging bullits

Cockpit on or off, u still need to be able to aim, and hit.

Well, it's a film. I'm not doing the holier than thou bit but I just don't see the point of flying outside the cockpit. It's ok for watching tracks and learning but beyond that, I don't get it.

But, that's not what the thread is about, so, yes, it's nice clean film. It didn't make me nauseous etc and it didn't give me any sense of atmosphere or 'presence'. Sorry. No offence intended.

But you're right - never fly alone - join a Squadron/Geschwader, etc.

Seriously though, I dislike closed pit as much as you dislike open pit. We all have our own choice on how we enjoy the game, individually. It's simply how we choose to enjoy the game. We shouldn't assume our method of game play some how elevates us above others who play it differently.

We all have a love for the exact same game, who's maker saw fit to give us both options. How we play it shouldn't be a source of insults. It's like saying that your ruining a perfectly good steak because you hold your fork with your left hand.

I respect the patients it takes for a pilot to fly closed pit. I wish I had those patience. I don't. Maybe it's because I hold my fork with my left hand....I don't know. So let me close by offering this disclaimer...

WARNING:
WHILE THIS SQUAD HAS BOTH OPEN, AND CLOSED PIT PILOTS, THE VIDEO YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE IS OPEN PIT. THIS HAS BEEN KNOWN CAUSE NAUSEA, INFLUENZA, ANEURYSMS, HEART DISEASE, STROKE, NOSE BLEEDS, BLINDNESS, INSENSITIVITY, IMMATURE POSTS, CONSTIPATION, AND, IN SOME CASES, ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION AMONGST THE CLOSED PIT COMMUNITY. IF YOU ARE A CLOSED PIT PILOT PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE WATCHING THIS VIDEO.
That is the beauty of the sim.. thee is something for everyone... good luck in ryour recruiting efforts.

Sometimes you wonder. With no cockpit, externals, padlock, player icons, map icons and as many Mk108's as you can carry - What exactly are they simulating!??

Although I wouldn't be seen dead in a server like that, your movie editing skills are quite brilliant

Actually, if you were here at the time of posting you'd know the disclaimer wasn't there, it has been added in later.

Flying full real does not make you better than open pit pilots, and there is nothing wrong with the hectic action that you can find on servers like SoF.
