What's more valuable is fact. I have driven a car more than 600 miles and I didn't circumnavigate the world. To ignore facts simply because you either don't want to understand them or can't is ignorance of the highest order, and a slap in the face to all of the great minds that the human race has produced. Eratosthenes worked this out hundreds of years ago, quite accuratley. If you wanted to you could recreate his experiment and get the same result, you could, but you prefer to ignore it and are happier with your 600km... Even though you could get in a car right now and drive 600 miles and disprove your own theory/calculation. |

600 km radius implies 2*3.1416*600km=3770 km
have you driven 3770 km and i dont find intelligent obtaining earth radius based on measuring 800 km distance are you suggesting is true he paid a gold coin to a kid to walk that distance counting steps that the system agrees this guy was bright doesnt make it to me eyes in fact i find the method stupid compared to the arab method, more taking into account he had the tower of alexandria avalable hey i did this and now its on first hits ![]() ![]()
