I also tried it on a widescreen with no effect. Maybe Kernalklink could make some tests, cause I still think the effect is only visible on multiple-monitors connected to different video-ports.

I'm sorry, I forgot to include that you have to set the resolution in conf.ini, set to 1024x256 (with three monitors you would set it to 3072x768 or a factor there of), that should allow you to see what I'm talking about. |

I have posted instructions on how to try out Use3Renders on a single monitor in the link below. You need to do more than just set Use3Renders=1 to get this to work.
If you post your current [window] section of your conf.ini I could modify it here for you if you want to see it on your system. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...815#8401041815 Keep in mind that on a single monitor, even widescreen, that it will not really be too usable. It is intended to create three different 4:3 aspect ratio windows (ie like 3 views each 1024x768 ), each representing a different view on each monitor. To fit that on a single monitor means the height will be very small. It doesn't draw a view directly to each monitor, it just draws a view that is 3 times as wide as normal and each 1/3 of the picture represents a different view. It requires hardware like the TH2G or software like UltraMon that sends 1/3 of the view to each monitor. Because the view was draw in 1/3 sections and the TH2G sends 1/3 of the view to each monitor it gives the perception that each monitor has a different view. But you can display this 3 view on a single monitor, Il-2 doesn't know or care, it's just that as I said before it is not really that usable on a single monitor because it maintains a 4:3 aspect ratio so 3 views across a single monitor means that the height is really small. I still think, though, that you can a much better view when turning the monitor by 90degrees and the desktop likewise. While you practically have the same width as normal, you can view the instrument panel and mirror without moving your head. Looking around it also gives you a better view of the above contacts, which usually are the most dangerous. ![]() |

I encourage anyone reading this to test out this setup at least once. Use striker85's link and instructions from above post. At first, it may look crazy but if you look closely at the view that becomes available, it will stun you. You have THREE TIMES more view of the game!!!! Doesn't any one get the significance of this????? You have absolute clear peripheral view to each side. It is as if you took off goggles. You can see everything to each side of you, your wing man, enemy planes, and also you can see directly behind you when you look even slightly to one side. Anyone flying with this has a HUGE advantage over those who do not but it is legal. Hold your hands up to your eyes and make cups on the sides of your eyes like you have on goggles. That is how you fly now with one monitor. Now take your hands away and now you see what use3renders is like with 3 monitors. This makes this SIM very close to real life view because of gaining peripheral vision that any pilot would have. Without touching your mouse or moving your head you can see evreything on the sides that would be cut off at the edge of your monitor. Everyone seems to think that this expands your view of what you already see on one screen but what it does is ADD two more screens of the game. I cant explain any better but you MUST try this. You will NEVER go back to one monitor again. Better yet, go here and study the screen. http://www.matrox.com/graphics/surro.../first_eagles/

![]() You can change your desktop accordingly from the driver settings. Just check out the nView-Options for nVidia or the rotating desktop-Options for ATI/AMD and there you go. You have the full size of your monitor, but standing on its side. Now change the settings in your Ini from width=1280 height=1024 to width=1024 height=1280 and see what happens when you start the game. I had the feeling that especially in the 109 or other cockpits with limited view, this gives you a whole new perspective. It's also very immersive on the He111. PS: Be sure to have SaveAspect set to "0"! |
