The blue stripes appear on the horison where the sky blends to the earth/water. They are only visible at lower altitudes.. between about 1K and 3K or so.. IIRC

The blue horizontal stripes seem to only be a problem with the ATI 69xx cards.

Whether it is the game or a driver issue it is still unknown.

On another note, a very well done, week long, scientific test by TXgunslinger determined the microstutters were caused by the cpu and not the video card.

"In summary - It's the CPU not the GPU that producing the stutter and pausing."

If you have a quad+ core I believe you should not be manually setting the process afinity mask setting in the config file:

Quote from Luthier: "We did unload a bunch more stuff into other cores already though. It will obviously only lead to performance improvement if you have more than two cores, and if you haven't manually set your processaffinity in the conf.ini."

Robin, don't sell your 5970 card, it's a really good card, what we need is good crossfire profile from ATI, or good crossfire suppord from devs.

There is only 1 card from ATI what is faster than yours, it's 6990 and it's crossfire card too, so same problems with CoD, if you buy one GPU card you downgrade your computer.

all 5970 is downclocked from factory, so i overclocked mine and get about 25% faster 5970 than default, of course i cannot say overclock it, that is risky but i put link to you, i do it and my card is very fast at moment and stable with factoryfan.
i raised my voltage only 1 notch as you see at the link, only software i use was MSI Afterburner, and i overclock only when there is need to it (A-10 and CoD)

like ataros said the micro stutters have nothing tod with the GPU , i get an AVG of 32fps overland in "black death" trak from inside cockpit and even higher on dogfight servers.

I know this is a PITA but i would recommend a fresh install of windows with nothing but the game installed and then try and see what performance you get, i say this because that is what i run a stripped down win7 for games only! ..it really does help performance

S!

Before you do any of the complicated mishing and moshing of all the settings and that...... make sure your running the most up to date drivers i was getting the same micro stutters and crap performance even after the patch but then updated to 11.5 ATI drivers for my cards and all of a sudden stutters were gone and i was getting very good frame rates with all graphics turned up over London. Still not perfect but far better then what i think your seeing now.

Hope this works cheers

when i change render to 11 the ground looks blurry ...i am not very good with this is it the config file in your documents ore is it in the steam directory and
fore some reason i cant find ProcessAffinityMask in my conf file .

with the old patch i saw them but right now its gone .
