Don't expect additional flyable planes with free patches. While I wouldn't rule out a few sub variants like the E4 may be included at some point, a complete new model is highly unlikely to be provided for free from all we've heard so far. Especially if it's a bomber.

There are no indications that additional planes are ready but reserved for DLC. While Oleg may not have the final word on that, he's made it clear that he doesn't want to follow such a business model and sell them individually, but only as part of larger scenario packages.

I wouldn't be so quick to doubt Oleg, Gents. For all we know Africa could be well on it's way to completion.

No Ju-87 until just before FB, no flyable jets or bi-planes. It took a long time before we saw Emil and Gustav 109s, FW-190A4 Jabos or any twin engined mounts (Oleg originally planned to only offer the top gunner position on bombs as player controllable...)

There were only half-a-dozen aircraft at release - everything else...
This is list of flyable planes from the very first version, Il-2 Sturmovik 1.0 from 2001:

Il-2 1st Series
Il-2 2nd Series
Il-2 3rd Series
Il-2 Field Mod
Il-2M First Series
Il-2M Late Series
Il-2 Type 3
Il-2 Type 3M
Il-2T
Il-2I
La-5FN
LaGG-3 Series 1
LaGG-3 Series 66
LaGG-3 IT
MiG-3
MiG-3ud
MiG-3U
P-39N-1
P-39Q-1
P-39Q-10
Yak-1B
Yak-7B
Yak-9T
Yak-9K
Yak-9U
Yak-3
Bf 109F-2
Bf 109G-2
Bf 109G-6
Bf 109G-6 Late
Bf 109G-6/AS
Fw 190A-4

That's 32 variants, and 8 different plane families. So, don't be offended, but I think you were wrong. And yes, I'm a nitpicker, of the worst kind!

I remember flying IAR-81 and FW-190D9 online from outside view before they had cockpits.

I really hope we get the Do 17 in a patch, and I don't mind paying for it. It did a lot of daring low-level missions during BoF and BoB, the kind of stuff that was excellent in IL2, and that I suppose will begreat in CoD too.

Thanks Koivis,

I recently uninstalled the original and was going off of memory (ie. the airplanes I flew or the ones which were announced a few months before release).
