The answer from Mysticpuma is; Yes I can

I don't know what qualities this chap Mistycpuma has!

The problem as highlighted is I don't have Cliffs of Dover!

To give an idea of how a short trailer/movie involving Cliffs of Dover could have appeared, here's one I did with the older Battle of Britain software (not IL2).

This took effectively 16-hours to put together and I was not familiar with any of the Simulation software when I made it!

I'd love to have a go at it, but lets not kid ourselves...I am not on the Maddox team and I can't see him releasing an Alpha/Beta candidate to a chap in the UK, who he has met just once!

Would be great to do it though!

Cheers, MP

I know for a fact that such offers to do the job (Trailer-production), for FREE, were submitted to 1C and UBI many times going back to the 2003 timeframe.
UBI, especially, is infected by what is know as NIH syndrome..."Not-Invented-Here" so we'll do it in-house, even though ineffectively and by amateurs and inefficiently and at a cost.

Over those years they have produced lame, second rate Trailers and other ineffective marketing videos.

There are absolute Masters of movie-making in the IL-2 community...offering free services...but ignored.

Quite a shame.

Don't even get into the offers made to do Box Art, submitted by at least one World-Renowned Aviation artist!!

The best 'news'/'rumor' I heard about 18 months ago was that UBI would NOT be the distributor for SOW:BOB! I cheered!
Now they are back...do some googling/Binging research and see who works in the UBI Marketing department for IL-2. Extrapolate to how they are implementing marketing for COD... I mean, c'mon...how out of touch can they be with the entire PC gaming/simming community not to know that COD has been 'taken' for years by...Doh!!...Call of Duty (aka COD)! Vive la France!

Wish you luck Mystic on getting the job. For Oleg's sake.

I hope that we get to see some impressive explosion effects too? If you don't have time to go through the video I linked above, just check out the sequence from 4.40 to about 4.55 and see the 109 explode with plumes of spiralling smoke.

very impressive! I'd love to see what the current 'explosion' model is?

Cheers, MP

A bit too impressive I would say...The 109 crashed like it was carrying a 2000 lb bomb!

If there is one way (that would be the only one!) the so-called hollywood-style explosions are OK, this is about "normal" aircraft crashes= a ball of flames and then a burning wreck.
Here it resembles a bomb explosion or even a ammo train explosion: a flash then very large smoke projections...There are many ways of overdoing pyrotechnic effects

Its simply not logical to let 3rd party random people do a trailer for you.. It's a matter of control of whats being produced and making sure that it follows
all legal right etcs, you can't just jump the gun and hand off a promotion video for a profitable product without having everything checked out.

Sure there are some really talented people out there in all communities, but its not their job, i can think of exceptions such as Glowing Amraam's DCS videos tho.

Well, surely if you handed the job out to a 3rd party, you would have guidelines, you would follow progress, you would check the result.
But this is common sense. Hands up anyone who thinks Ubi has any ?
...

thought so.

He's one of the best if not the best..but he'd have to be even sided though in a trailer. Let a few 109s shoot up some Spitfires and Hurricanes. I've noticed during his career he's been an allieder. Start throwing the pots and pans I'm ready to duck
