When I saw the first development posts I told my self to buy atleast 2 copies in support of Oleg and his team.
I´ve never before been so involved in the making of a game as with Il2, Il2 FB and SoW.
You get connected with the development team and you want to help them.

I would never let my self buy multiple copies of Call of Duty or Need For Speed because they are just "games" in a huge market with more marginal.

But with Oleg and his involvement with his fans you just get the feeling of mutual graditude.
Think of all the hours he spends on posting updates almost every week. They could have been used in further development but I think Oleg wants share with us and I hope all of us can pay him back by ordering multiple copies of this marvellous combat simulator.

I sincerely wish for a instant success when SoW is released and 1C can pursue their goal of a comprehensive series of combat simulators ranging over alla combat theaters.

Do any of the old hands here remember when Oleg crashed two cars within a week, and we all donated money via Paypal to get him back on the road?

Oleg needs cash - cash will give enormous energy to his team.
If we buy current games like Il-2, it is not good. We have to raise money for FUTURE projects, which is impossible to be financed from banks, at their stage of development. But Oleg have proved his abilities to build superior products. We do not have to buy Il-2 in order to finance Battle Of Britain.
For example, I prefer to give directly 20$ to Oleg for financing Korea battle simulator.

I don't think Oleg would like to operate this way...all it takes is one unscrupulous person to frame Oleg for stealing money....
Also, if something went wrong....

Yes, I remember! It was great! Oleg's car was destroyed by garbage truck from behind. Somebody have said to Oleg: "Oleg it seems, your car needs rear gunner!!!!" Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

I really do not need 2-3-4 copies of Battle Of Britain. I prefer to send money to Oleg!
He knows what to do with them.

You really are serious.

- 200k won't do by far
- find 10k ppl...

sold gamecopies are measurable success, for publisher, banks etc.

Cool, nice gesture.
There probably isn't a link to a thread or so?

Oleg will get his money from SoW sales, won't he? And also, won't he charge companies who wish to use the engine? I think there is still a lot of money that can be raised this way.

However, I think BG is trying to make the point that he wishes to send Oleg money.

@Swiss, I'd search for you, but he's crashed a few times. I'm not sure which event Bee is talking about...

I also don't need 2 copies of it, but nevertheless I'll buy two of them. But that's not the matter. Software development is not a cheap business anymore. Publishers and banks can provide the needed amount of money. 200.000$ sounds much, but it isn't. Not if you have to pay a bunch developers

The more copies are selled the more money Maddox Games will receive and the easier they'll get money from the publishers.
We are talking about much larger sale numbers and returns through distribution in order to cover Oleg's costs.

However, it is many times more efficient to self-distribute or to take donations, than it is to give a publisher a cut.

My own suggestion would be to open a shop selling souvenirs at an excessive price.
