I do have the 1.17.5 patch and when testing the Japanese flame tank in the editor, everything works OK, all flame throwers do "spit" flame correctly etc.

No new model needs to be done if you want to add a flame thrower to a already existing tank. All you need to do is to play around with the .def and .mdl files and renaming the coaxial machine gun´s Foresight4 to Foresight9 and of course. Then you need to rework both the tank_sp.inc and tank.inc files to get it to work. Just look how the sdd flame tank is made and add the same code to your new flame tank.

A new model has to be done anyway if you want a KV-8. When I get time this year or the next I'll try it.
