I need to correct myself.

Set "Anti Aircraft Artillary" to "Hostile"...

You can then bomb the ground targets, and ships...

I used the wrong terminology.. Sorry about the confusion..

Gotcha, that's just as good. Would be nice to find some aircraft parked near a hangar wouldn't it?

It would, but there might be. I haven't messed around the airfields in training much, other than practicing landings in realistic and sim mode. thats allot of fun for me. I ussally try to challenge myself in training mode, because I am pretty good with capture the airfield on line games, and strike, but really not so good at dog fighting. I fly pretty good in all modes, but just have a hard time targeting. I think my biggest issue is I am one of the "aging" gamers, and tend not to see very well. I have my box on a 37" HDTV, on 1080p mode, but sit about 12 feet from it, and my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be, but not gonna trade my old lazy ass recliner for a closer view, lol... If I wanted to make that trade, I would probably be better at dog fighting..

But, I try to challenge myself in training mode. I typially have it set to at least realistic and sometimes sim. At least 6 enemy aircraft, often more than that though, on veteran level so I have to work hard to get them, or avoid them. I like to fight them, while bombing ships, that to me is allot of fun..

I really enjoy the training fields in this game.. I wish they had some training maps in on line so you can connect with friends and set them as friend or foe and good around with live people instead of just the AI though. That would be loads of fun for me then..

I fly in training mode a LOT, so for me it would be great to have. I rarely play online, but to just have the B-17 to fly around in the single-person training would be sweet. I could then set-up a flight of 16 B-17s and fly my Bf-109 thru the formation.

So for me... yes there would be a GREAT need/desire to use the B-17 in single-player mode.

Hmmm.. That is an awesome idea.. I think Im gonna do that right now, lol.. That would be cool just to see a fleet of B-17, and try and fly through them.. lol..

A new fun thing to give a "shot".. hehheh

I think they should offer the B-17 as a download, even if they charge a little bit for it.. Because it is ALLOT of work and time to get one on line. I got one, but man, while doing it, I questioned if it was gonna be worth it..

Sounds like serious fun!! I'm jealous "Tudorp15". I gotta try and spend some time online and get myself a B-17 too. Although with the amount of time I play online, that will take about 5 years.

I got mine using mostly the Arada jet bomber. It is hard to win in a bomber unless you have either a fast bomber that can outrun most the fighters, or a good fighter escort to keep the enemy fighters off of you. I find good "team" players hard to come by. Many are kids, that do nothing but run off on their own, but if you get a good team, that plays together, with fighters that stay home to protect your area, AND someone willing to stay with you to keep enemy off you while you bomb you can do very well. I stayed with a select group that we formed sort of a "strike" team, and me with the Arada bomber, got pretty good strike capable. Did well, and racked up 50 wins in a bomber to get mine.. But, I attribute it to teamwork, AND the fast Arada jet bomber.

I found it, and I enjoyed it. The 1000 pounders do a little "too" much damage to make them last, but it will be very good rocket and small bomb practice.

You definitely need to get on with us in the game nights we've been having. Most of us are the older crowd looking to have fun with the game. We try to balance out the teams as best we can, not overly competitive.

Played around with the B-17 on Canterbury. Set up 6 BF-109's on veteran and the B-17 handled them just fine. Edited to get the landing/take off right.
I know most will LOVE the music, but here it goes. LOL
