But I believe this is a programing issue. When using the custom setup instead of the thrustmaster 2, the throttle works like the PS3 controller not like a joystick throttle. If I can find a way to use the custom controller setup and get the throttle working, I have it made.
Someone else had the same problem a month or so ago. He got told there is a setting to swich on and that fixed it for him. Looking at that photo could it be the "absolute throttle" switch it to yes?

Talking Resolution to Thrustmaster Throttle Deadspot

Sweet! Thank you very much.

That works. It takes a while to setup because you have to reprogram most every switch using the Controls Screen , then you have go to the Settings Screen and set the "absolute throttle" switch it to yes and get set the dead Zone to 0. But it is way worth it. I fact, think it may be worth it to take this route for most serious "pilots". It allows additional control that you cannot get with settings other than the custom layout setting. I'm really looking forward to adjusting the rudder for realistic mode.

If anyone else has trouble, post on this thread and I should get an email. I will give more detailed instructions if someone needs me to. (A quick note, you can use two buttons for selecting the pause menu.)

I'm very excited. I'm going on line right now to try it out.

Hi James,

Can you detail exactly what settings worked for you with the custom layout for your thrustmaster? I have been playing around with settings to try to fix my deadzone, but I'm not really making it better. Different, yes, but not better. I'm not sure what "nonlinearity" does vs. the deadzone settings?

Thanks,

Merry Christmas Joed70 and congrats with the TM hotas.
I got the same stick for X-mas last year and stowed away in january where it has been since

As you say, it takes a different style of play. I never got used to the long range throttle handle, or the twisting of the hand wrist for rudder control.
I felt the whole stick was large and never found a real comfortable seating position with it, neither on my lap nor on a table in front.
I am stuck with the ps3 pad with default layout for realistic and layout nbr 3 for sim.

I hope you will come to like it better then what I did.
Enjoy and see you in the skies.
