It must work. If you have followed all of the JtD's it should work. Snap distance is in meters so you might not notice the snap unless you don't zoom in enough.

Important is to know that with zooming I don't mean going into 3d view, snap works in 2d only.

Try to move the object, then it will snap. The same goes for multi object selection.
When you just insert the object, it doesn't snap.

Ok I have it working now, I had to load a blank map for some reason I wasn't able to edit them into a GoF map I'm currently using.

Sorry, but I can't get it to work. See the screenshots. What am I doing wrong?

I am trying in both 2D and 3D. Neither works. I have 3 lights placed on a blank map. I click on any one and move it, but it does not snap anywhere.....it just moves to where I place it and then stays there. NO SNAP......LOL

(Is this a joke???)

You need to zoom more, your snap distance is just 10 meters and in your current zoom level one squre is 1km so you can't see 10m movement from there.

Try this in the snap step distance box 100.0

The object only snaps to a grid intersection so its no use wanting to use it for runways.

If TD wouldn't mind giving us the ability to raise/lower group objects that would be be the best option.

Cheers.

The funny part is, I was not even trying to use this feature. I simply posted to try and help Alpha.

If somebody had just said ....INCREASE THE STEP SETTING, YA DUMMY....we would have gotten it right away.

Default that 10 setting to 500 and this tragedy will never happen again.

"The object only snaps to a grid intersection so its no use wanting to use it for runways." *Not true. Once you have a nice line of lights, you can then copy and move them as a group to the runway.

Well getting a nice line of lights is the problem.

The small utility I had did a great job of lights and fencing etc.

This ways a pain.

The group objects copy, paste, raise and lower on the F4 key is a better option

Looks neat but light spacing is insane . 30m or even 60m interval would be more realistic.
