Hm... just to avoid, that you have one of the single patches corrupted, try this one on a clean 4.07 install (run admin, watch for correct folder, etc.):

(choose 'select download mirror')

Pretty much....

I did some Modding here and there....I have HSFX and ultra pak, JSGME all that other stuff, I had the thing crazy modded so I get why the version change is a mess.

But I can't understand why after a new install of the DVD 1946 is stopping at 4.09m

I wouldn't instal it into program files either.

If the game is stopping at 4.09m, it could be a corrupted patch.

That's why we do it step-by-step, so we know which one to single out. You'll have to start again, but at least you can now find 4.09 somewhere else.

Have you tried looking at Mission4Today? You have to get an account, but they still host the patches.

Thanx thats where I got the last download.

I installed a new copy of the game to a folder outside of Program files and its the same. This time I stopped short of add "skins" patch to eliminate that one but its the 4.09m that is shutting me down. there are two files to down load one is 4.09_m and the other 4.09m I have both and tried both.

I remember having problems with the 4.09m patch also
What I did was pasted the Zip file into Mu IL2 game folder /Right Click and selected "extract Here" That was the only thing I could figure out after Many attempts of extracting it to My folder.
I later learned that I didn't have to delete the folder and start over when I wanted to create a back up(I had installed a MOD Pack and wanted the other)
I started from scratch extracted 409m and my game crashed I then pasted the Zip files and Selected extract here and had no problems

Also I do recommend getting all patches from M4T

Best of luck I hope you get it figured out

Even as an admin, you should use the "run as admin".

Right click on the file, then choose 'Run as administrator'... in the next window, just agree.
