Sorry, to resurrect a slightly old topic but figured better than creating a new one. I was hoping someone could just assure me that these two DLC aircraft you'd receive as a pre-order bonus from GAME will also be available as buyable DLC on both XBOX LIVE and the Playstation Network?
I still haven't decided between the 360 and PS3 versions and with some sites charging as low as approximately £27 for the game, I really don't want to have to pay a full £40 unless its the only way to get the 2 aircraft. I do recall the pre-order Ace Combat 6 bonus as those two aircraft never appeared as buyable DLC. |

Ahhh this sucks. I probably wouldn't buy the DLC planes right away, but it would be frustrating to be unable to play with people just because they DL'd a couple of planes.
I know in some games like Burnout Paradise and Midnight Club there are cars available to download, but having those cars doesn't mean you can't play with others who don't have the cars. I don't see why this game can't just set it up that way. ![]() |

it says on uk site that the 2 planes are p-47d and ta152h1, in the plane list it says u can use p-47 but is it the same p-47 or a diff model and will the ta152 be in us version, or is it like call of duty were if u pre order all u get is to unlock the carbine at lvl 1 insted of lvl 65????

The better odds say that they will make the planes available to everybody at launch in North America. We are getting the game a few days early as it stands, 8-2 according to Gamestop. I can't see them leaving such an iconic plane as the P-47D out of the game in North America, as it was one of the major reasons why we won the war in the air and on the ground. You can't have an American campaign with ground-attack missions and not have at least one version of the P-47, be it the P-47B with the razorback cockpit, P-47-C with the improved razorback, or the P-47D, which is the most widely known and widely used model of "the Jug." The P-51D is a great plane, but you talk to any pilot from the era and he will tell you that it was not a great ground-attack aircraft. Statistical fact: if you research all of the great P-51D aces of the war, 85% were shot down by ground fire during a low-level mission. One single round into the coolant tank, located on the underside of the P-51D, and it's game over. The Merlin engine was the best high-altitude piston engine of the war but it just didn't make the cut for low-level work.

The online game store GoGamer.com currently has the 360 version with the pre-order bonus planes (P 47D & TA 152H) {its actually advertised as part of a 48HR Sale)
It does seem a bit unfair to not offer two planes to the PS3 fans, as one myself I'd like to have some flexibility from day one in my hanger) one of the best marketing ideas was having different plane DLC offers (like UBIsoft did with HAWX) at different sellers. |

The Pre-order Bonus planes in hawx weren't DLC. They Just gave codes to unlock the planes in game. Anybody who had the codes off a cheat site could unlock all 3 bonus planes.
