I have to admit I too am disappointed with what we have been shown.
There seems to have been little or no progress from the first shots in 2004-5 until now. Nice graphics may only be part of the equation but they are what sells a game.

I'm not expecting to see cutting edge rendering techniques in a flightsim, but neither do I think bolted on self-shadowing and slightly higher texture resolution and poly count are going to cut in in 2011. The sky, clouds, the water shaders - everything reeks Il-2 expansion. Of course all these things are fixable. The question is, after nigh a decade of development, why haven't they? And yes, I've read all the stories about car crashes and deserting devs.

Hopefully the rest of the sim, especially the physics part will make up in complexity what the graphics seem to be lacking.

Some more very old shots, for those with short or no memory of where the sim originated...

Nice water huh?

And remember when this kind of thing would happen?

Nope, Cliffs of Dover is no better than this.

Open your eyes people.

Default I'd like to complain......

I want this game to:

- blow cold air on my face when I open my virtual cockpit,
- spray black ink on my monitor when I get an oil leak
- shoot me with red paintballs when I get shot up
- have the exact number of buttons on my uniform when I look down at my "body"
- yank me out of my chair and hang me from the ceiling when I bail out
- smell like fuel, glycol, exhaust and oil as soon as I sit in my seat
- throw a bucket of water on me when I ditch in the channel
- allow me to sit on a virtual toilet and think about my previous sortie
- have my monitor start to smoke if I get hit
- shake my desk when I crashland
- pick my nose
- scratch my arse

Sounds ridiculous doesn't it lads, well that's what a lot of you sound like. Give it a rest and keep your pathetic bitching to yourselves until the product actually comes out, you've played it and then actually have something to whine about. In short..............GFY.

Why is it the fanboys have to criticise anyone that has the audacity to say anything that isn't in agreement with them.
I think it will be good and i will buy it in time but i don't think it is too much to ask to be given more solid information regarding certain aspects which haven't been addressed.
If it can be answered ,then why haven't they? that alone makes people doubt.
Lets be honest it has been a shambles so far, Ubi being announced on the hoof as it was badly leaked and not really being a popular choice.
A change of title announced which went down like a lead balloon ,yes even on this forum,
A poor advertising video preview, hardly a positive start. They need to start putting something of substance together soon to put the doubts to bed and sell to people who are sitting on the sidelines.
