Took a look. If you use Water=2 try in QMB setting weather to Hazy or Poor, then see if there are white caps. Why I use Water=0 is because of performance online. I do not fly to stare at water, I want every single FPS and as little stutter as possible. Offline I sometimes try higher water settings for screenies etc. |

Got everything working now, nice graphics and no blocky text.
So far so good. Problem is, the FPS are insanly low, min 20-25 max 140-150 and avareage 60-70. Using the same settings or HIGHER with my 9800GTX gave me min 30-40 max 200-400 and avarge 90-100. Something clearly isnt working as it should. Is this maby related to the Ati drivers and/or running OpenGL with ati? |

Nothings solves my problem, no ultra water at all. Looks like shit. Could it be a driver problem??
See my specs two pages before. Thanks, Hunger |

ATI runs a bit worse than nVidia on IL-2 due the code has been optimized for nVidia. You can clearly see this optimization when you open the console at beginning of track and look at the list of NV stuff there. Then compare to the same list with ATI and it is a lot shorter. So this has an effect for sure. For 5xxx series card the 9.10 atoglxx.dll in game folder seems to work just fine. I have not tested 4xxx-series, but if getting those numbers seen above I would be happy. The Black Death track is good to give pointers, but does not reflect the actual gameplay. I got higher FPS in more demanding scenes in-game than on the track. And as stated many times before ATI is working on this, so have to wait a bit as fixing something like this ain't done in a day or two. Some tips below for testing ![]() Vertex Arrays can be enabled if setting DynamicalLights=0. No blue hue! You do not need Polygon Stipple or DrawLandByTriangles => 0. Disable Catalyst AI, no use in IL-2 from my experience. Water=0 has big impact on performance with some loss of eyecandy. Forest=3 is less demanding on your system than 1 or 2 for some odd reason. Effects=1 is good, using setting 2 is like begging for trouble. Bugged and not recommended, not even by Oleg. Last edited by Flanker35M; 05-15-2010 at 07:26 AM. |

Since i make a lot of videos using IL2, i need the perfect "ultra" water to get a nice picture.
But with my water right now, its a mess. I'm using this config for render opengl: [Render_OpenGL] TexQual=3 TexMipFilter=3 TexCompress=0 TexFlags.UseDither=1 TexFlags.UseAlpha=0 TexFlags.UseIndex=0 TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0 TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0 TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=0 TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1 TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0 TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1 TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1 TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1 TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1 TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0 TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0 TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1 TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=0 TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=0 TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1 TexFlags.DepthClampNV=0 TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1 TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=0 HardwareShaders=1 Shadows=2 Specular=2 SpecularLight=2 DiffuseLight=2 DynamicalLights=0 MeshDetail=2 VisibilityDistance=3 Sky=2 Forest=3 LandShading=3 LandDetails=2 LandGeom=3 TexLarge=1 TexLandQual=3 TexLandLarge=1 VideoSetupId=15 Water=2 Effects=1 ForceShaders1x=0 PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.0625 PolygonOffsetUnits=-3.0 It looks like this ingame: ![]() Thats not the perfect ultra water.. Is it possible that my actual driver is wrong for this? Driver Packaging Version 8.712-100302b-096979C-ATI Catalyst™ Version 10.3 2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1010 Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0735 OpenGL Version 6.14.10.9704 Catalyst™ Control Center Version 2010.0302.2233.40412 Thanks, Hunger |
