I’ve only had time to test using the Black Death track, and recorded the following:

Ver.17582: 42/99/7 (avg/max/min)
Ver.18301: 40/95/5 (avg/max/min)

Settings: 1920 x 1080, all quality ‘High’, AA, A-EF, SSAO and VSYNC ‘Off’, Grass, Shadows and Roads ‘On’, using SMAA and cpu @ 4.20GHz.

Subjectively, the first run displays less hesitation when caching textures and differs little from subsequent runs – seems to me that this function has been tweaked? The only graphic glitch I saw were the burning aircraft through the BF109’s fuselage when it flies part the runway, which is as it was previously.

The biggest news for Cayman users is that there are no longer blue lines displayed on the horizon at low altitude

Update: despite the BD track results, in-game performance seems to have improved. I flew the quick missions over Dover, Le Havre and London and found frame rates to be generally higher. Flying between the chimney stacks in Le Havre the frame rate is now limited by VSYNC (I only disable this when running the benchmark), and at 500 feet over London I previously had 29-34fps, now I get 36-42fps with no visible graphic difference. The new tree LOD is a bit distracting, but the missing blue lines error is the biggest improvement for me.

Default Thanks for the additional download site

Thanks Black Six for the Easternskies.eu download site. I tried many times yesterday to download from the original sites with no luck. Succeeded on the first try Saturday morning from the site you added today,

Cheers

Now that I've had a chance to apply the latest patch, I'm hoping that the on-line Spit/Hurri start-up problems can be resolved quickly.

It's recommended to follow these steps as posted by ATAG_Septic,

1) Verify integrity of local files (to get back to last official version)

2) Go to your documents\1c softclub\IL-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover folder and delete the cache folder. (the game will rebuild it based on the new version next time you run the sim).

3) Extract the beta patch in the game folder (c:\whatever_you_named_it\steam\steamapps\common\I L-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover) and let it overwrite anything it wants to overwrite

4) Run the sim one to force it to rebuild the cache.

5) Start a free flight quick mission to force it to add anything else it might need in the cache.

6) Exit the sim.

7) Restart the sim.

I managed to fly for approx 1.5 on the ATAG server without a CTD or lock up of any kind. this for me, was unheard of with the earlier patches. I would always have to leave and re-enter the sever at the end of each mission.

I had some stuttering at low level which I could deal with and got shot down twice and didn't know anything about it because I had no huge lagging like before when any enemy A/C were close by.

So that in itself is a step forward.

Default TS Overlay stops Launcher for me, every time

I don't know whether this is useful information or old news but just-in-case;

TS Overlay stops Launcher for me, every time.

I use TSNotifier, which seems fine but sometimes get confused between it and TSoverlay.

I didn't use TSoverlay or realise it was enabled following an update but it was and it crashes Launcher.exe.

Gutted. I deleted the cache installed the patch, ran the game to build the cache and my performance with settings switched down to low are down from approximately 25fps to a really rubbish ,3 fps over the sea with only two aircraft on the screen.

I think therefore I will uninstall Clod and go back to the offial steam version and wait while you dedicated chaps fix it.

Cheers, MP

No worries, it's not like i'm getting paid any royalty fees for advice

All i care about is getting people up in the air, the more we all advertise these "tips and tricks" the more people will know about it. I suppose we both care more about getting more people to fly than being strict on crediting, so by all means "steal" whatever you think is useful if it's going to help someone. Cheers

Try deleting the conf.ini in My documents/1C SoftClub/IL2 Sturmovik cliffs of Dover, try starting the game.

Make a backup of the Conf.ini before you do it.

Hope it helps.
