The investors already got what they wanted. They were mentioned in all the big newspapers - around the globe(!).
If you wanted to achieve this the regular way, it'd be way more expensive.
Think red bull - baumgartner.

They've fond a crate (that's a storage crate, not an aircraft/crate) but they can't see what's in it:

Even more important - they have found water.

Makes me wonder if it already was there during their test-drills.
