I just bought this game today.

I was looking for a flight sim, that had cockpit views, and was historical. (I have Ace Combat 6, and while good, and realistic, the japanime stuff drives me crazy!).

For years I played Battle of Britain, Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, Red Baron, back in the 80s and 90s, and they remain my favourite games.

I suppose I assumed after playing Call of Duty 4 and 5, that all online gaming was that good - always a game, games work the way intended etc.

I am now sorely disappointed in this game for online experience. REALLY disappointed.

That and the missing cockpit views - so far, Blenheim, Bf109...

So hopefully a patch will fix this stuff, because the game itself is pretty good.

you will be even more disappointed then. On this forum, got to the Sticky called Dev's Forum, go there, and look at the Sticky there about what's going to be in this patch. It's almost like they're TRYING to FAIL.

Why do you think that? The patch fixes 90% of the things I think should be fixed.. what important things are they forgetting in your eyes?

EDIT:
on 2nd thought, they are fixing 99% of the problems I can think of right now, that need fixing. (dont know how may planes will get the needed performance upgrade)
The rest is more 'extras' like the german cockpits, cockpit only mode, lobby system etc

They aren't fixing any of the turret problems, they aren't fixing all of the plane issues, they aren't fixing any of the historical inaccuracies, they aren't doing anything about the bombsights, they aren't doing anything about the majority of the damage models. It's awful, for a company that put so much pride and effort in the PC side of things, and produced such a steamer for the consoles.

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head, there's probably more, are they doing ALL the cockpits or just a couple? or will that be DLC to REALLY take the piss?

I dont know if you have your 1946 copy yet, but the turret 'problem' is the same, there are no bombsights in MP either.
Dont know what you think is so wrong about the bop damage model? but in 1946 you will also see the same kind of damage depending on the plane.
Historical inaccuracies... I can understand you hate them, but I couldnt care less in MP.

1946 is a great game, but I really think both games have something to good to offer, that the other one doesnt have.

well, im off, to play....ehm... 1946 or BOP.. dont know yet

EDIT:
pff, wanted to give the spit vs 109 server in 1946 a chance. Need to download +2gigs in mods

1946:
I don't know what you mean by the turret problem, but for bombsight: Of course there are bombsights in MP.
