If you were to actually read the site, you would see that he has rectified that 'announcement' as it was the result of false information being sent to him (Heinkill). So clearly he wasn't in any way trying to dupe you, although clearly you're a little bit sore.

Yes it is, I'm running Windows 7 x64, and I've never had a single problem.
