We could even offer to pay for a decent upgrade in the form of a DLC . OK, contentious may be and pretty sure some would object but an option non the less!

Your welcome. I've been searching off an on today trying to learn more about the costs to developers for patch updates hopefully to get an understanding of why Xbox is not getting the patch.

Though I really couldn't find anything I did run across another article from Forbes magazine that's called "Why Gears of War Costs $60". It really breaks down the costs and bottom line for game development. The article can be found here: http://www.forbes.com/2006/12/19/ps3...sivegames.html

I am only speculating but I am really starting to feel as though the 360 update is just an extra expense that 505 cannot justify.

It's not that much of an extra expense for 505, it was an expense for the developers. They weren't funded by 505 to make the patch.

The solution to get a patch could be to obtain help from Microsoft.

I updated the wikipedia citation to link directly to the thread where Anton said the patch was finished. I wanted to do this before but didn't have time to track down the thread in question so thanks for finding it STINGER. I decided not to directly quote Anton's statement because it would probably make that wikipedia entry too long, and I also didn't want to put Anton directly on the spot for what he said. People on wikipedia who want to know more can just read the thread I linked to.

No suprises there and just goes to show that even MS are not the slightest bit interested in supporting us to support their console. Gamers need their own independent website to air grievences with Console manucturers and Publishers. I would be interested to know the reasons for deleting it.

But 505 have to pay MS to get it released. That previous article isnt relly relevant as its main focus is on EXTRA costs levied by sony (but does detail that publisheres have to pay regardless of platform. So what confuses me is why 505 would choose to release it their and not on 360 and why platform holders wont accept patches from the devs.
