played one match yesterday, only found an arcade one, and it was terrible... I stuck to some guy's six for like 3 minutes, got at least 20 hits on him. he was pouring smoke but did not die, and out of nowhere some dude gets on my six, fires 4 rounds, and I'm dead... WTF?!

At least you got a game the PSN server wouldn't connect me. Maybe it was due to ballistics, he had the superior weaponage?!

well i hope the fix comes quick....it really is getting anoying. id like to see the time between a hit and someone crashing raised way up to like 5 minutes. id also like to see the resprawn after crash not give them such an advantage.... and be further from the action,, so those that havnt crashed arnt at such a huge disadvantage. and one more thing...head on crashes....i lost a match yesterday cos i had two, and both times a kill was awarded to the other guy....aggghhh

Funny how none of my other PS3 games have noticable lag online

Lag in consoles games depends greatly on the connection you have with the person that is hosting the game and with the other players.

Unless you play IL2 and other games with exactly the same people, its not a completely conclusive observation.

Can anyone explain why all the online games dont exist?
I really want to fly against human pilots but any game search results in "game no longer exists". This was the same for quick and custom options.

I notice quite a few posts in reference to the Arcade damage model. Let me clarify my concern.

If BoP were to be released with no real competition, then this would not be an issue. That is not the case. HOE will soon hit the market with a rush of aggressive advertising, flashy colors, and impossible physics.

And the casual gaming community will eat it up.

Why? It's fun. Arcade mode should be fun. Arcade mode is NOT fun in BoP. If I can whiz about the skies at 900km, take a turn at dead throttle and not stall, have unlimited ammo, fuel AND defeat a freakin’ spitfire with an I-153, why does it take an obscene amount of damage to get a kill? I can’t count how many times I was in a dogfight for the duration of the game session, getting hit after hit (for crying out loud he’s been blowing black smoke for the last five strafes!) yet NO KILL. NOW I head over to SP and I’m almost a KM away killing a BOMBER with one good strafe. WTF? !? HOE will be able to offer immediate gratification, no matter how unrealistic it may be. If it is fun that is what people will continue to play I’m afraid, leaving the BoP MP community in dwindling numbers. I understand Realistic and Simulation mode needing to up the ante as far as the damage model goes, but that is for a different demographic. Think of how many gamers would actually be playing CoD if the only difficulty was Veteran or Hardcore? I am really concerned about the longevity of this game in the online world.

No not me, I've yet to quit a single game.

What game mode ? and when ?

Last night was the first time I had ever played in a game mode against bombers, I played 3 game and twice I was in a bomber. The first game I was shot down AFTER I had dropped my bombs a few times, the second game I was not shot down once and the third game I swapped to a fighter to defend our bases and was in a 109G6 and got 14 kills. In none of those games or any other that I have played have I quit once. Stop BS-ing.

Well thats a perfect comment cause think about it... if all these people have this game and the multiplayer is dead... SOMETHING IS WRONG. Its because games are not joinable and people go online... see nothing... and leave. the developers made a crappy online game.

well, are they actually ever gonna get the proper servers up? Are there any proper servers or is it all p2p? Because 'the birds of prey servers' are not online thing is quite misleading if not.
