I got this email from TIR 5 support re: the camera rotation feature... which IMO s a major drawback... that means if you use a projector you cant mount the camera behind your head.. or on any other angle other than directly in front of you...

"Unfortunately that feature did not make it into the 5.0 final software version, and we hope to have it remedied with the 5.1 software release.
"

I don't want to touch a sore spot (lol)...but a-side from your 'camera rotation" problem, how do you find the "software up-date"? Are their any advantages?

Thats just it... without the camera rotation feature I cant use the update.. The flimsy stand on my TIR4 broke on me... so I mounted it on the top bar of my LCD monitor with 2 sided tape.. The cord goes across the top of the monitor and down the back.. the camera is upside down.. so in the 4 SW I just rotate the camera 180 degrees.. and it flips what the camera sees so that it is right side up ad in synch.. W/O that feature I can't get the heads to even track right at all.... so for me.. or say for someone like 99th_Obsidian.. who uses a profector.. and actually has his hat on backwards with his camera mounted behind him, because his "monitor" is a wall that is @ 12 feet from him... the new software would be useless.

You can still mount it behind you, just need to invert the axis around slightly.

The issue with mountin upside down is different, as the software is having a hard time tracking the trackclip/TrackClip Pro in the inverted position, within the camera view.

Yes but with the 4 SW this works flawlessly.... I thionk that better.. should be better... not .. lesser.. er..

It isnt a big deal.. since the 4 SW works.. I just miss out on the cool new GUI and whatever plusses there wee in the new SW.. but the 4 SW does the job.. it does what I bought it for.. very well....... So I'm not beefing but so much......

I found the new software to be much more "responsive" but I had so much trouble getting the driver to work reliably with the Win7RC that I too reverted back to the older software. I think it will be nice once both mature a little more.
