Let me clairify...

It's silly that we still don't have multiple crewed aircraft in DF mode.

I fully understand about coops. The addition of radar will be a boon to that area of play.

1. That's fixed in SoW with AI in DF mode also, yippee

2. If you can get the bombers to turn off nav lights in TD's v409m
Night missions are a pain without using the nav light mod.

It would be great if the night textures were made much darker than the blueish tinted night time we have at the moment.

Is it possible for TD team to let us mere mortals know what's on their "fix it" list please

ElAurens,

About human multi-crew aircraft in join-in-progress dogfight mode ..

think .. you'd have to sync the players into the aircraft before hitting "fly"

likely technically possible, but how might that work in the interface ?

1. Players would need to select same base on brief screen.
2. Players would need to select same aircraft and probably all same features on arming screen
3. I think then, you would need a new button on arming screen, perhaps labeled "Seats", which would turn green when 2 or more players had selected correctly .. when you then hit that button
4. It takes you to new screen naming aircraft selected with list of pilots similar to coop aircraft selection screen, but only the one plane selected and showing only players that had selected the plane, then you ready up in same manner as in coop.
5. Then the players hit "Fly" from that screen, become synced together in the aircraft and join-in-progress together.

Would be nice feature, but significant reprograming involved, new interface screen design.

So.. it's not just 'silly' we don't have human multi-crew for dogfight / join-in-progress mode, it would require some new things to implement.

Hey TD a question....

Someone unlocked a way to increase the torque in the FMs... You couldn't decrease it lower than the stock torque.. (so it couldn't be used as a cheat..) but if you wanted to increase it , say.. so you could get even more realistic torque effects.. especially on landings & T/Os.. you could.. I never tried it.. and actually it wasn't a mod from what I understand.. but the mods enabled the feature to be unlocked.. it was always there... at least from my understanding of the "feature" I am wondering if it might be possible to include that feature in an upcoming patch as an additional CEM option. Some kind of varying degree of torque from say... stock to stock plus x , to plus xx .. up to the point where if you were not careful you could flip your plane on T/O like it sometimes happened in RL.. I seem to recall some time ago Oleg making reference to this feature @ UBI .. No one knew what he was talking about though and because it wasn't activated in the sim it couldn't be used so it was a moot issue.. I believe he said that he could make the FMs even more realistic but a lot of peope wold find it harder to fly.. but I figure since some of us have been flying this sim for what... 8-9 years now....

Is that doable?

Of course! It's like having a dog without it's bone.

Silly really.
You misunderstood. The G-4 will be flyable in all positions in dog.fight server like all multicrew aircraft that we have until now.But it won't be usable.Because i don't think that you can shoot at a fighter, while you're monitoring the Radar,or if you are shooting at something with the rear gunner.
It's a tactical aircraft,and not turn&burn style thingy.
And unfortunately, most dog.fight servers already are turn and burn style.

It already have been done. But i forgot was it going to be for 4.09 or the next patch.
About the darker night,it already have been done. But again i forgot for which patch it was.Of course if you have a clear moon sky, don't think that it will be dark.
Also our "Fix list" is quite big,and i don't know what is for fixing, but there are a lot of things. You'll see when the time comes. But the fix list is not containing "fixes" for the flight models of any existing aircraft ingame.

@Bearcat,this might be considered but i cannot give any promises about it now.

Just a thought but, I know atleast 18 people on my Xbox 360 list that bought Il2 1946 in the last month because they loved the BOP demo, so I think that there will be a nice little flood of of noobs coming to il2 1946 in the next few months. I also know a lot of people who are buying it so they can play Canvas Knights when the AAA crew releases it. There are a lot of WWI fans out there that never got IL2 because they were still playing RD baron 3d or one of its mods.

Plus to be honest I don't see ROF taking off like people thought it would.
Someone said Il2's comercial life is dead in the water and I just don't think its cold and rotting yet. I got a feeling it still has a few twitches left in it.

If Daidalus is thinking the same thing then they know they will get some work sent their way down the road for doing this new patch.
Even if they are doing it for "the love of the sim" They still know the exposure of this work can lead to new paying work opportunities. Hell we may even see them do some work on the next console Il2 ? if BOP does well. Then we have the future with SOW too. I'll say this too, I'm feeling pretty positive about the sime market over the next couple of years.

RoF is going to take off when they pull that insane connection requirement. There's people complaining that new patches have screwed up the game for them, but they can't revert to a prior patch, the new one is forced on them as soon as they start the game. Unbelievable.

I've been wondering how many more copies of 1946 are getting sold because of BoP.

Default Yep

Thanks Team Diadalos for getting together and doing this. The fast degeneration of first few pages thread didn't block out the +'s .

I'm looking forward to night fighter, that'd be rawking.

You have to appeciate the level of care that goes into IL-2.

Take world of warcrack. They say they got 11 million subscribers. I'll give them 10 mil for this scenario. The game runs for $15 per month so technically WOW gets 150 million a month.

That's alot for server fees (they do have servers in US timezones and european) but still not enough.

And the devs throw out a patch here and there and a big new dungeon.

But that is eclipsed by the quality that IL-2 has gotten. And I would rather have IL-2 community at my back during a firefight rather than the WOW community.

Big props! (proper recognition not airscrew).

FOR:

ROF is a professional WW I . But they made a professional game release mistakes that will plague them, releasing too early, trying to do something like microtransaction marketing when the genra doesn't support it (both game genra and type of people they are catering to).

And having a 2 planeset, I mean what if they came out with GTA 10 and you could only gank 2 cars, or Doom 10 and you only have a 2 weapons. I'm sorry you could get away with 2 choices in DOS games but not in 2009.

And ROF multiplayer is like as if the game came out years ago when dial up was king and everyone was figuring out this multiplayer stuff.

its '09 and you have to have a robust 32+ player online capability for game longevity.

But they can fix ROF, the issues its gots aren't game breaking
