Static Ground Targets & Friendly Vehicules
Hey there,
I hope this subject haven't been already seen. In the second mission I just didn't see the vehicules moving... So I am a bit disapointed about that. that's quite strange to see some Panther or Tiger not moving in the battlefied..just staying static and waiting to be shoot by your P-51D. In Sim mod there are quite hard to see. If they were moving we could see the smoke behind them that could be a great help for us, poor little pilot Same problem with the train...why isn't it moving ?? That is really sad because the smoke effect in this game are really awesome and I would love seeing a train moving with this typical smoke trail ! And a last question, about ground battles, I didn't noticed any friendly tanks or infantry... maybe I am wrong but it was a bit strange to see all theses tanks firing on...nothing... ++ Last edited by carbury; 08-08-2009 at 09:42 AM. |

Completely agree. The lack of an ACTUAL target is very odd to me, but I get over the oddity with my frustration at not being able to find them. The best suggestion I have heard so far is that they have a mark over them after you spot them to imply that the pilot "remembers" where they were, but that it dissipates over time or if you focus on something else.

I have a feeling that in the full game we will have missions with moving ground targets. Demos are generally dumbed down since they are playing off of limited hard drive space. I relaoded my copy of IL-2 1946 to my computer tonight & had a lot of fun with moving trains, tanks, etc. Another thing I noticed though is that the graphics on Birds of prey are MUCH better (i have all of the settings maxed out on 1946). However il-2 1946 is several years old , there is a new release "il-2 Storm of War" due in 2010. So if you like Birds of Prey you should invest in a good gaming PC because SOW should be incredible. Not to mention on PC versions you can map controls, control all aspects of flight control (engine control etc.) and PC versions have replay so you can edit videos.
