In that case I seriously recommend the single phallus (Saitek AV8R) or the double phallus (Ace Edge/Hori). This will be a greater sensation than the ordinary joypad.

yes but if yove got it condenced all in one place it makes it easier to read everyones thoughts! Its like walking into a bar and asking for, lets say, orange juce and he hands you some oranges and a jucer. its common sence that you would get it all in one place.

In my opinion flying with the left stick makes much more sense and will become second nature. I have been playing il2 for pc like this for some time (except you dont have to click the right stick to feelook and the rudders are triggers and throttle is bumpers). If you think about it then the more it makes sense. If you are flying with the right stick then you would have to take your thumb off to hit the buttons. The same principle is in the fps you play like call of duty. if a is your jump button and you controled your players movement with the right stick then how could you jump on top of objects, or how could you keep moving while reloading. I think this is the best possible way to map the buttons and I have no problem going from playing this and then playing a fps like call of duty.

It is all in all just a smarter layout for the kind of game it is.

The developers completly forgot about RC fliers, which as you pointed out has the throttle on left and aileron and evelator on the right. I tried the demo, and even though I haven't flown RC in a while, it is very difficult to break this habit, one I'm not sure I want to because of the cost of getting it wrong on the flying field. At the very least, they should have a "southpaw" configuration that would allow for another config.

With all the complaints I'm almost sure Techland will add control options in a patch.

Right hand for control...left for the throttle is the way you would of flown a real WW2 fighter..

Might have been different if the Germans had seen a PS3 controller way back then....

I like the gamepad configuration as is, it makes sense to have the main controls on the left stick because that's how it is on a real flight joystick.
