Lucky James quest glitch?

I am up to the point where I have to get the maps from lucky James. Every time I kill him nothing happens, he is still in his castle and if I chose to attack again it just puts me in a fight with no enemies. Any ideas?

I am using 1.7 on steam.

Nevermind, reloading a half dozen times or so seems to have fixed it.
