after i install the newest patch, from the official website of men of war
no matter i click on the single player or the mutilplayer icon, it said:
This application has failed to start because dsdx9_38.dll was not found. RE-installing the application may fix this problem

Download the latest DirectX from Microsoft website. It will solve yopur problem. Or simply type "dsdx9_38.dll" in google and download this single file.
