Guys we all have to accept that Oleg will release it when he thinks it's ready.

My biggest fear is that he tries to make the ultimate sim engine and that by constantly adding and changing things, to be in par with new hardware technologies/OS's (i.e. Windows 7), the whole project may collapse.
I can't say that I know that this is happening, but I get this feeling by his updates, where he says that he wants to make the best sim engine to be used by other game developers and when he fails all the release predictions he has posted.

On the other hand, we all have proof of his and his team's skills. IL-2 is the living proof, when even after 8 years from its original release, it's still the best sim (if not game in general) in the market, therefore we should not lose the faith in him.

What I suggest is that we all leave this place, spend our valuable time with family (while waiting for SoW I got twins and another boy is on the way ) and if SoW is released then get involved again. So simple

The only other, not healthy, way is to keep on waiting like lovers waiting for each other after a long time away. Is SoW that important?

Enjoy the life guys and let the bits and bytes do their job alone!

SimHq has recieved some info and screenshots from Oleg and will be posting the interview in a few days.

Its very easy to predict that a sim will miss its release date because they never are finished on time.

There is post in the UBI forums that appears to suggest that UBIsoft is still the western publisher of SOW.

That's a strange industry indeed; if I had to say to my customers "It will be done, when I'm done", my career would last the time of a project review meeting.

Have you ever heard about planning, engagements, reliability, reporting ? Everyone in this world has a schedule, a budget, and engagements with clients to whom they have to report, from time to time. It applies to farmers and Wall Street gurus.
Evidently for you Oleg makes an exception. That's what I call ridiculous, mate.

It seems to me that the main difference in this case is whether one is reading or writing.

Maybe because you (and me and most of us) are working in usual corporations/business where things are straight.
On the other hand Oleg is innovating. He is doing something new. In many issues he is making the path that other people will follow.
Therefore, despite the level of difficulty of everyone's business, it's completely different thing to compare them.

What do you know (?!)... "surprise, surprise" (sarcasm) it seems that Oleg is hard at work. I could have never guessed that.

Can we try to not be aggressive to eachother in this thread please?

I'm delighted we're going to get the SimHQ article soon.

Oleg is the man, let him do his thing, if you can't do that, then what sort of person are you? The fact is he is not obligated to answer to any one of us, and when he does so, it's of his own wish. We should appreciate that. We all know what the guy can do, so let's wait and anticipate!

Nuff said.

Dolphin,

In a way what you say is true, but it can explain the delays, not the communication black out.
