Portable castle mod?

i just want more slots for army carrying, but i've read that the existing mod for adding more slots doesn't actually work.

i'm currently toying with modding values and such - thought i could make an activable item that opens an empty castle on usage, but it looks like i'll need to learn game's scripting and i just only found the scripting reference. thought i'd ask first before trying to figure out something that might not even be possible. i'd rip the gremlin castle code out of The Legend if it was actually readable instead and place an actual castle in a tiny new zone. oh, and then there's that mod making thing where a mod is done in a specific way to be compatible with others done the same way? that's too much for me.

The game refreshes our army in many situations, so adding additional reserve slots causes bugs like the units in those slots disappear unexpectedly.

I remember there is a mod called "soul book" or alike, which makes it possible to convert the army into an item-like card then put it in the hero's inventory.

Is it possible to design try to combine regions? How about changing space? There's a mod called "the backrooms soul book" or something similar, and it allows you to turn your army into a card that you can carry around in your inventory.
