Enhanced squad sizes in ACW mod?

In the ACW mod the squad sizes from the you tube video have 30 or 40 members moving around the screen in squads. How is this done? Where can I find the information about this. While the demo seems to focus on those mechanical horses. You can see large formations of men moving as a squad. I would really like to see the implementation for this!
