Yeah I used a lot of static cameras placed at a lot of places. You can place those static cameras anywhere and at any altitude.
To get the moving shots I turned off the cockpit in a plane. For example for the moving shots on the water I used a PBY or an A6Mn(the zero on floats)

A weird thing was that AI Avenger that crashed at 4:10 during a torpedo run. I went back and looked at that track
again and in slow mo and close up and that plane was not being shot at or anything. I had put all the enemy ships asleep for that shot.
But its right wing just breaks off for no apparent reason. Mysterious.
