Default Ok, flickering shadows, ok issue only with Effects=2. Crazy Ivan any new dll's coming

Right, after a lot of playing around, I have found that the only time I have any issue with flickering shadows and the smoke flashes light to dark rapidly, is if I set effects=2 or full-screen effects=1?

Tests all done with 2x8800GTS (G92) in SLi and none Sli mode. Tests all done in windowed and none windowed mode. Tests all done with same map/mission.
VSync has been tested on and off with the same results.

Now the odd thing is this;

Setup of the cards in SLi mode and using windowed mode with effects=1 (everything else is maxed out) gives me no flickering shadows.

Using the same setting if I go to full screen, then I get the flickering shadows and some of the smoke flashes light to dark rapidly.

I have a feeling this is down to .dll (I have the latest! March release version) but would like to know if there is any more progress on getting the .dll's updated?

It's not a 4.09 ask, but we did go through the testing dll stage thanks to Crazy Ivan, however March is a long time (yes I know 4.09 has been longer) without feedback or an update.

So CA, can we get more progress on the .dll front as there are still issues that need to be resolved and it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, MP.

Well as requested here you go!

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3

TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
TexFlags.UseIndex=0
TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0
TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1
TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1

TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

HardwareShaders=1

Shadows=2

This is how it is set for no flickering shadows. Just change the Effects to =2 and I get flickering shadows

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=1
TexCompress=2
TexFlags.UseDither=0
TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
TexFlags.UseIndex=0
TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0
TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1
TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=0
TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

Thanks CA, hopefully there is one more version before 4.09 is released.

The latest Nvidia driver now has Physx for all 8800 cards upwards, so hopefully this can be looked at too?

Here's hoping.

Cheers, MP.

Im not sure you can expect too much more .dll wise due to time restrictions I suppose, I hope it is done but the last addition for NV >> .

10106F20: ' *** Detected Shaders 4.0. NVidia 8XXX+ series!!!',0

If they go further with 1946 would be amazed
