Default Throttle control using mousewheel, is there a way?

For the last ten years I've always mapped my throttle controls to the mousewheel. It's handy and I get a much more precise range of movement than the little lever next to a joystick can provide. Clod seems to be the only sim I've encountered during this time which does not appear to support the mousewheel. Before I go out and spend a hundred bucks on a new mouse, I thought I'd better check in and see, has anyone else got it working?

It is hard to visualize that. Have you considered just buying a used throttle, there are bonus's with all the extra assignments

I'd prefer to use a mouse wheel for throttle.

An Team Fusion member started a poll some days ago to get information about people using the mouse for prop pitch control. Maybe you should ask for a mousewheel throttle instead.
