Officer got "kicked"

Strange things happen sometimes: I bought an officer (german side) and let him run to a certain point. On the way he suddenly dies, no enemy, not falling down somewhere, nothing falling on him and no one ran over him. The kill message in the top says something like "(World) kick Officer".
And yes, he is dead, his body lies on the ground and I can't buy another for the rest of the game.

What is that??
